St George's Chuch of England Primary School

Parent Survey

When parents are actively involved in their child's learning, children and schools flourish.

“the effect of parental engagement over a student’s school career is equivalent to adding two or three years to that student’s education”.             (John Hattie 2008)

We value the time that parents give to support our children. Listening to our parents' voices is important to us. We send parent surveys to parents at regular intervals during the school year and invite parents to share what they love about the school and ideas to help us to make the school an even better place.

Here are some of the things that our parents love about St George's:

The close knit relationship between teachers and pupils.

When I drop my daughter off at school in the morning I know that she is well taken care of and I feel like they are a second family.

I really like the school because it really cares about the well-being of my child and mine.

Feeling of a community.

Children are well behaved and encouraged to be the best they can.

My daughter has improved in all aspects like maths, reading and spelling I’m so impressed!

The child’s well-being is the main focus.

The teachers are very lovely and friendly. I am very proud of the person my child has become.

The teachers’ patience with our children and the encouraging enthusiasm.

The teachers  are passionate about what they do.

Here are some "even better if" themes that came out of our autumn term survey:

More homework

You all have lots of different opinions about what homework should look like. Check out our Homework tab (under Children) on the school website to find out why we do homework the way we do.

Extended after-school care

Did you know that you can sign your child up for Fruity Club that runs Monday-Friday until 6.00pm at St Mary's? A Fruity Club staff member will collect your child from the school playground and take them there.

Opportunities for parental engagement

Based on your feedback, we have re-designed Family Learning opportunities. Our next Family Learning week will be week commencing 10th March 2025.

As well as asking parents to complete a survey bi-annually at Parents' Evenings, we ensure that Senior Leadership Team are present on the playground at drop off and pick-up to be a listening ear to parent voice daily.
