Number - estimating, recognising,  counting, ordering, one more, one less and finding ways to make 0-10  using a variety of practical materials, beadstrings, cubes, fives frames.  

Mastering Number- comparison and composition

Shape, Space and Measure: 2D shapes: naming and finding properties of pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, and octagon

Measuring items using body parts and recording the height of objects.

Understanding the World: Plants 

Instructions on how to grow a plant

What does a plant need in order to grow?

What are the different parts of a plant?

What are the names of common garden and wild plants?

Phonics: Unit 3, 4, and 5 (all Sounds-Write lessons with the sounds a, i, m, s, t,n, o, p, b, c, g, h, d, e, f, v, k l, r, u)

P.E: Negotiating space and obstacles safely and experimenting with different ways of moving

Fine Motor: building strength, animal positions, hand strength, and dexterity

R.E: Incarnation- Why do Christians perform nativity plays at Christmas?

PSHE: ''Celebrating Difference'


Homework will be handed out on Friday and is to be returned by the following Wednesday. Your child will be given a Phonics and Maths task to complete. Please ensure when your child is completing their Phonics task they say the sounds as they write the whole word.

Your PE day this half term is Tuesday. 

Family Learning:



Children in Beech Class will begin to apply their phonics knowledge by using a fully matched decodable reader in a small group reading session. The children then take the same book home to ensure success is shared with the family. You will be notified when your child is ready for a reader.
