PE
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31.
We are athletes. We are physically confident and are moving to learn. We know a range of skills and experience a broad range of activities. We are competitive, disciplined and respectful team players.
Physical Education is an integral part of the total education process at St George’s. The focus of the PE curriculum is to prepare and motivate all students to engage in activities, which promote health and physical wellbeing. Physical Education at St George’s contributes to the total growth and development of each child primarily through movement experiences.
Our physical education curriculum help children become competent in a variety of motor skills and movements. Children experience a broad variety of movement activities and develop an understanding of movement principles, which include body awareness, space awareness, and qualities of movement.
Our physical education program centers increased attention on human wellness and healthy living. Teaching for wellness involves teaching concepts that help students develop an active lifestyle. The physical education program will provide children with an opportunity to participate in activities designed to develop and maintain personal health through physical activity and fitness. Students develop an understanding of how to maintain wellness throughout life.
By participating in our physical education curriculum, children enjoy being active, learning important fitness concepts, developing good social and communication skills, and maintain a positive self-concept.
