Design Technology (DT)
Design and Technology (DT) encourages children to learn, to think and intervene creatively to solve problems both as individuals and as members of a team. At St. George’s, children have planned opportunities to use their creativity and imagination, to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts. During which they must consider their own and others’ needs, wants and values. This gives the learning purpose and relevance to the children.
We aim to link work to other disciplines such as mathematics, science, engineering, computing and art. The DT Curriculum includes opportunities to explore designs and designers throughout history, enabling children to critically reflect upon and evaluate their own designs.
